Spirit of The Namibian Desert

The Namibian trip was my first adventure into the desert. I had never before realised how much life there is in the desert. This image for me reflects the true essence of what the desert offers to the living. Through the dry mud cracks of a river, a miracle of life is being kissed by the first rays of sunlight. On the cool sand dune that would turn burning hot in a few hours, stands a green tree under which there are small insects. The tree also offers shelter to animals under its shade. The same sand with it micro-life blows into the ocean during storms and provides food to the fish we eventually eat. We are all connected and must learn to respect our environment. This is what the spirit of the desert teaches us.
